Janel Shicor, M.A., CCC, is a speech-language pathologist. She earned a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in speech-language pathology and audiology, and a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Janel worked in various school and private practice settings early in her career, and through these experiences, developed a strong interest in auditory and language processing disorders. Due to her great success in regard to treating these issues, she started a private practice specializing in this area. Janel’s reputation in the community followed her, and her practice was full before she officially opened the doors in 1997.

She has written several articles about auditory and language processing disorders that were published in her local area. In addition, she has spoken to schools, parent and homeschool groups, as well as other professionals, to help increase awareness about these types of learning issues. Janel wrote her e-books, "Beyond Tutoring: Strategies to Improve Reading, Spelling, Comprehension and Memory" and "Poetry Fun: Training Visualization Skills with Poetry," to enable parents to have effective learning strategies to use with their children at home.
